Why I love Aweber
One of the things I regret about my blogging journey has been that I did not begin getting emails from the get-go.
I blogged for six months, had several followers, but never took the time to ask for their contact.
Imagine how many members I lost.
My goal is to make sure that neither you nor anyone else makes this mistake!
Are you serious about having an online business? Then let me share something crucial.
“Your mailing list is your biggest business asset.”
Your Facebook followers, Twitter fans and all who follow you are good.
But having an email list is so much more important.
When I finally began getting emails, I started with the Best Company after doing much research.
I chose Aweber over all others because they provide one-month free service, and have live support where you can talk to someone about your problems on the phone. You don’t just talk to a Robot!
Their features are brilliant, the system is efficient, the information about your subscribers is invaluable, and the entire workflow is extremely user-friendly.

As a new blogger, it is so easy to get confused about which hosting company to use.
There are so many offers out there, and making a decision can get overwhelming.
One thing I’ve learned is that a hosting company that goes offline can Kill your business. You need a company that is reliable and has customer support 24/7
I think you may be hard-pressed to find a hosting company that rocks like HostGator.
Since I started Blogging in 2012, I have used HostGator and have never had any complaint.
They are reliable, and their customer support is spot-on!
I wouldn’t recommend anything I didn’t use.
I believe in using providers who provide excellent quality and only the best.

My Business Journey
After graduating from Nursing School, I worked at Nairobi Hospital in Kenya. The hours were not great and when my kids were little, staying away those long hours was challenging.
I transferred to another hospital called MP Shah because they had better working hours.
The salary was not enough, even though the hours were better for a young mother.
I felt desperate trying to make ends meet.
One day, I approached a doctor I work with, and I asked him if he knew where I could get a better paying job.
He said, “Joyce, stop relying on a salary to meet your needs. Start doing something on the side. You can keep chicken and sell eggs or make cakes or sell clothes. Do something else to add to your income. Let your coworkers become your customers; if you sell a tie to me, I’ll buy it.”
That was the day my eyes opened, and I started having side hustles.
I have done several businesses along my journey.
From selling perfumes to second-hand clothes to selling donuts called Maandazi, to books. I later became a Consultant and began Counseling and Training Services. Moving to America, I did not venture into business initially.
One day in 2011, my employer decided to close down the company.
There was no warning whatsoever. We were just told to clear our work lockers and get our final pay from the human resource department.
This happened at a time when we had so many bills to pay, a mortgage and several debts we were trying to clear. You can imagine the stress it brought -not just to me but all the employees. Several coworkers cried bitterly that day.
That was when I decided I need to begin a business so that I am in control of my life.
I did not want any employer to control me or my livelihood ever again.
Initially, I was not sure what kind of business I wanted to do.
The only thing I was sure about was that I wanted a business I could do from home.
-And because I travel to Africa and spend a number of months there, I wanted a business I could do from anywhere in the world.
Having a blog and running an online business fit perfectly into my lifestyle.
I started with a nursing blog, and three years later I began this blog.
“A year from now you may wish you had started today.”
