Slow down for a moment!
Is this something you can easily do?
Mindfulness means maintaining a moment-by -moment awareness of our thoughts, feelings, and surroundings.
When you practice mindfulness, your thoughts tune into what you are sensing in the present moment.
The practice of mindfulness is credited to the Buddhist religion. However, Christians have always been encouraged from the scriptures to “Be still and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10
Also, we read in Matthew 6:31 ” Therefore, do not be anxious, say; what shall we eat or what shall we wear?”
We are encouraged to live in the present moment.
Many of you live in the past, going over the hurts you experienced; while others live in the future.
When you think about the meeting tomorrow or the things you will do over the weekend -you are not residing in the present moment.
How about today?
How about focusing on what you are doing now?
When you sit still for a moment and slow down your thoughts, you’ll find that your stress levels reduce a great deal.
